The Plitvice Lakes National Park located in Croatia is well known to the Europeans who live in this area but many of those who live in other countries are not as well acquainted with these amazing works of nature. However, each day a couple thousand of people visit this magnificent place.


 If you heard the name “Pltivice Lakes” without knowing anything about them from beforehand, you’d probably think that there’s two, three or even four lakes together, right? Well, no… In total, there are 16 lakes! They are all arranged in a cascade of sorts. Starting with a mountain runoff before further delving one another via small rivers. They are separated by natural travertine banks, while still following the same water flow. The sound of water commotion, gurgling and splashing is a non-stop occurrence. You can definitely see the might of water here in all of its glory.

 
Plitvice Lakes National Park's  16 different lakes which change color by the second. Within the blink of an eye, you can see blue, green, aquamarine and turquoise. This is due to the way the sun hits the water and the number of organisms and minerals.  
 
 
 
 

In addition, surrounding the Plitvice Waterfalls are more than 120 different species of birds. They rely heavily on these waterfalls as they provide the perfect atmosphere they need, which is a combination of moisture and humidity. Also, Plitvice Waterfalls are also home to wolves, bears, deer, wildcats, wild boar and lynx which tend to roam around during the early morning and late afternoon hours. The wildlife is extremely diverse here.


In conclusion, Plitvice Lakes National Park is definitely worth visiting and is becoming more popular each year.
